I just finished reading “The Correspondent” and pretty much agree with what you had to say about it. I am more of a mystery fan so found it a little hard to stick with the book. However, I found it interesting that the author had such insight into an older person’s
thinking, although as I am 95, I don’t find a woman in her seventies to be really old.

I think lasagne and also paella was mentioned. They went for ice cream.
I read of a few fun ideas: a bowl of walnuts, of colored pompoms, and of corks–all parrot treats! And if you can find a stuffed parrot and a bird cage – would make a great centerpiece. I’ll bet a party store has a parrot pinata.

In reply to Marion Queen. I know they had some meals, but I can't remember what they ate or if they even said. But the book takes place in Maine, so maybe look up foods that are common in Maine.
